Meta removed nearly 23 million Facebook and IG posts in November in India
For the period from November 1 to November 30, Meta took action against more than 19.52 million such pieces of content across 13 Facebook policies and 3.39 million across 12 Instagram policies. Of the many categories, 14.9 million of this content on Facebook was removed for “Spam,” and then 1.8 million for “Adult nudity and sexual activity.”
Google open sources its internal video-blurring privacy tool
Google released its first internal project, Magritte, on Github, which uses machine learning to detect objects and apply a blur as soon as they appear on the screen. It can cover up random objects like tattoos, registration plates, and more. Google wrote in the blog, “this code is especially useful for video journalists who want to provide increased privacy assurances.”

Layoffs at Twitter continue as Elon Musk keeps firing staffs from public policy and engineering team
Twitter reduced its public policy team by half. Twitter also sent emails to certain infrastructure engineers terminating their employment. Since Elon Musk became the company’s owner in October, it’s estimated that around 75% of Twitter’s employees have either opted to quit or have been let go.
LastPass reveals hackers stole its encrypted password vaults
LastPass CEO said the intruders used cloud storage keys obtained from a LastPass employee to take a copy of a backup of user vault data. The cache of user password vaults is kept in a “proprietary binary format” that includes both encrypted and unencrypted vault data. Unencrypted data in the cache includes web addresses that are stored in the vault.
Ola Electric plans to launch commercial EVs by 2023
Ola’s co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal said, “there are teams working on cars, two-wheelers, there are teams working on commercial vehicles… same software, same cells, electronics is used across products.” Aggarwal stated that the company will soon begin making money from its two-wheeler division and would reinvest the earnings into these more recent goods.

Web3 gaming startups in India witnessed a sixfold increase in investment from $115.3 million raised across 39 deals last year to $620.5 million in 2022 across 32 deals. The growth was attributed by industry analysts to rising user interest in P2E games and the rise of web3 projects beginning in India.
Jio acquires 100% stake in Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infratel for Rs 3,720 crore
In November 2019, Mukesh Ambani-led Jio submitted a bid of Rs 3,720 crore to purchase the tower and fibre assets of the debt-ridden subsidiary of his younger brother Anil Ambani’s business Reliance Communications. To complete the purchase of RCom’s tower and fibre assets, the tribunal ordered Jio to deposit Rs 3,720 crore in the State Bank of India (SBI) escrow account.
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried released on $250 million bail
Magistrate Judge Gabriel Gorenstein approved the bond and house arrest proposal for Bankman-Fried but stipulated that he get his ankle bracelet placed in the courtroom before departing. If found guilty of the accusations against SBF, which include wire fraud, securities fraud, conspiracy, money laundering, and campaign financing crimes, he could spend 115 years in prison.
