Google denies using AI to determine which employees to fire
Former employees speculated why they were chosen, as the distribution of layoffs seemed random. One employee suggested that AI was used to determine who was laid off.
Alphabet laid off 12,000 employees, or 6% of Google’s workforce, in January.
