Bhavik Koladiya has launched a lawsuit against the business and Ashneer Grover, another cofounder, in an effort to recoup his company interests.
Koladiya said that in order to obtain his “pledged shares” of BharatPe, he had fulfilled the terms of an agreement he had made with Nakrani and Grover in 2018.
2. Centre wants social media companies to rely on fact checking by govt agencies
For social media companies, the Indian government has suggested that the Press Bureau of India and its other authorities serve as the final arbiters of what material is accurate.
When it comes to the content that users “host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share,” the ministry requests that social media businesses and online gaming organisations conduct due diligence.
3. India could allow state agencies to remove gaming content under amended IT rules
In response to industry demands, the government proposed changes to the Information Technology Rules 2021 that would include online gaming as an intermediary.
If the new draft is accepted, state-authorized organisations like the Press Information Bureau can order intermediaries, such as online gaming businesses, to remove content that is judged unsuitable or false.
4. Microsoft to axe thousands of jobs in latest cull by tech giant
Microsoft is preparing to axe thousands of jobs in the latest move by one of the world’s biggest technology companies to reduce its workforce in the face of a slowing global economy.
Microsoft warned in October of a slowdown in its cloud computing business, an acknowledgement that major corporate customers were re-evaluating spending in response to economic challenges.
5. Maruti Suzuki sets new record by transporting 3.2 lakh units via railways in 2022
Maruti Suzuki has set a new record by transporting 3.2 lakh units via railways in 2022.
The company has obtained an Automobile Freight Train Operator (AFTO) licence in 2013.
This licence allows Maruti Suzuki to fabricate and operate high-speed, high-capacity auto-wagon rakes on the Indian Railways network.
6. Google pilots ‘soundbox’ in India to provide audio-based payment alerts
Google is piloting its own ‘soundbox’ in India.
The soundbox emits sounds when a mobile payment is made.
This helps alert shopkeepers and assistants to a transaction going through.
The soundbox is being used to build out the point of sale activity in India.
7. The top 1 percent Indians own more than 40% wealth: Oxfam Report
The top one percent of wealthy people in India owned more than 40% of the total wealth created in the country from 2012 to 2021, while only 3% of the wealth has gone to the bottom 50%.
Just five percent of Indians own more than 60 percent of the country’s wealth. The total number of billionaires in India increased from 102 in 2020 to 166 billionaires in 2022.
